Invited to the editorial staff for BRASILIA's "Anti" issue, I, alongside two senior students, spearheaded a complete redesign. The magazine's longstanding layout, while streamlined, had stifled creative freedom.
My approach was to lower the "guardrails," fostering a space for unexpected and impactful design. We re-engineered the entire visual language, from typographic systems to image treatment. A key moment was reimagining the cover; moving from the expected photography to a stark broken image icon to visually manifest the break from tradition and our new, open philosophy. My involvement extended to editorial tasks and organizing the launch.
The positive reception and renewed student engagement underscored the power of a fresh perspective and was a profound lesson in strategically pushing design boundaries.
